How can you actually use this?
– 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Carmine’s in Washington, DC. At last year’s dinner, we were excited to introduce our new policy framework that focuses on equity and implementation. Since then, we’ve continued to push the envelope, hosting the Intersection conference—where Complete Streets and equity were front and center—and working with communities to ensure that equity is at the heart of the Complete Streets movement.
That is why this year, we are honored to welcome Tamika Butler, a national leader in equitable transportation work, as our featured speaker. Tamika Butler serves as the Principal of Tamika L. Butler Consulting where she focuses on shining a light on inequality, inequity, and social justice.
She provides consulting, training, and public speaking for a wide range of organizations in the public and private sectors. Tamika has a diverse background in law, community organizing and nonprofit leadership.
What’s the real story?
Recently she was the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust, a non-profit organization that addresses social and racial equity, and wellness, by building parks and gardens in park-poor communities across Greater Los Angeles.
Before that, she was the Executive Director of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition. Prior to leading LACBC, Tamika was the Director of Social Change Strategies at Liberty Hill Foundation, and worked at Young Invincibles as the California Director.
