BPL Plasma currently operates 40+ FDA licensed blood plasma collection centers throughout the United States. We are growing rapidly in order to provide even more life-saving treatments to those in need.   Summary This position is responsible for performing donor medical qualifications, determining donor suitability and handling donor reactions. Key Accountabilities Performs donor medical qualification in order to determine suitability. Educates donors and staff on donor suitability and medical related questions. Treats and assesses donor reactions. For severe reactions notifies center Physician and provide follow-up communication with donor. Provides counseling to donors with positive or reactive test results and abnormal SPEs. Reviews and posts SPE test results and perform donor suitability evaluation every 4 months. Assists management in reviewing viral marker, Atypical, RPR and NAT test results as needed. Provides Hepatitis B education and immunizations to center staff. Provides education, qualification and immunizations (when applicable) to donors accepted into specialty programs and perform any additional follow up duties associated with the specialty programs. Assists in screening or collection work areas as needed. Maintains compliance with EU, FDA, state, local and company-specific regulations related to employee and donor safety, unit suitability, and proper performance of day-to-day activities. Other job related responsibilities as required. Physical and Mental Working Conditions Frequently performs work while walking or standing. Frequently exposed to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear personal protective equipment. Ability to work flexible schedule (weekends, evenings, holidays) to meet production needs. Occasionally required to travel overnight.   Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Currently licensed as an EMT, LPN, LVN or RN in the state of hiring center, or if applicable another state belonging to the Nurse Licensure Compact. Licensure must be maintained. Current CPR certification required and must be maintained.
