When Corinthia Cromwell steps onto the stage with her saxophone in hand, many members of the audience are surprised and when she begins to play the audience is astounded by the sound, passion and power that come from her saxophone.  Known as the First Lady of Sax, This Howard University and New York University graduate is a voting member of The Recording Academy and a protégé of The Grammy Award-winning Jazz great Wynton Marsalis. A jazz aficionado and multiple award winner herself, Cromwell is preparing her new CD releases “Straight to Smooth” and “Because of the Blood”  released in 2016. The first two singles from her releases “Trinity 3:1” featuring jazz great Cyrus Chestnut & “Great Day” featuring guest vocalist Crystal Marshall-Brown, is making strides both in the US and Internationally in the UK, Switzerland, London and several other countries. A vocalist, saxophonist, songwriter, composer , bandleader and producer, Cromwell has performed with and in concert with some of the industries greatest artists such as Kirk Whalum, Regina Carter, Marion Meadows, the Late Wayman Tisdale, Cyrus Chestnut, The Harper Brothers and many more too numerous to name. Corinthia has also performed with several well known gospel artists such as The Clark Sisters, Richard Smallwood and several other gospel artists.
