In 1964 he teamed up with Van Morrison to create perfect uproar with the Belfast act Them. During their turbulent residency at the Maritime Hotel, they perfected their version of 'Baby Please Don't Go' and birthed the garage band classic, 'Gloria'. Billy continues to play and write. His admirers have been aware of a magnificent Harrison original called 'Irish Linen'.It's the story of his mother, a famous industry, and the city that made it. The song haunts those who have heard it and finally, it will reach a larger audience. 'Irish Linen' will be launched at this Sound of Belfast special event.
