Schaffhauser, former Paralympic athlete Dennis Oehler, former Paralympic athlete   Course Description This course is designed to provide an update to rehabilitation clinicians on lower limb prosthesis prescription and training considerations. The format and content is focused on developing a collaborative approach to maximize prosthesis user functional potential. This includes safe, efficient and comfortable walking as well as higher level activities such as running and other sporting and recreational activities.   Course Objectives At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to: Discuss the evaluation, prescription, and documentation requirements, and training considerations for the transfemoral amputee. Develop a collaborative approach to maximize functional potential for the prosthesis user.   Course Agenda 9:00 — 12:00 Evaluation for and prescription of lower limb prostheses 12:00 — 1:00 Lunch 1:00 — 4:00 Training the prosthesis user Breaks will be inserted throughout the day. Snacks provided at the break between lecture and the Amputee Walking Program Lab from 5-7pm Course Materials will be provided via email prior to the event via email.
