MacEwan University, in partnership with University nuhelot’įne thaiyots’į nistameyimâkanak Blue Quills (UnBQ) are coming together to create faculty and student learning spaces through a symposium, focusing on exploring and strengthening Indigenous research. Academic institutions are uniquely positioned to address the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and enable discussion of Indigenous research and the reciprocal co-production of knowledge. Our focus is to strengthen Indigenous research capacity through confronting the colonial production of knowledge in past research practices, exploring Indigenous knowledge systems and holistic approaches, and building respectful, reciprocal relationships and partnerships.
