Wisconsin Dairyland HIMSS is dedicated to helping our members grow, and we are proud to offer a CAHIMS Boot Camp review course to help our members pursue their goals of becoming CAHIMS certified! The day will  begin at 7:00am with an optional networking hour (breakfast snacks and beverages will be available), and the bootcamp course will begin at 8:00am sharp.  There will be ample breaks throughout the day, and lunch will be provided (please let us know of any specific dietary restrictions by e-mailing our Director of Membership at widairyland.membership@himsschapter.org). This one-day boot camp will help prepare you for the CAHIMS exam, and provide an opporuntity to network with like-minded healthcare IT professionals. HIMSS administers two professional certification programs for healthcare information and management systems: CAHIMS (Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems) is designed for emerging professionals who may or may not have experience within the industry. CAHIMS is designed to be a pathway for careers in health IT. CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems) is a professional certification program for experienced healthcare information and management systems professionals. Why Get Certified? Certification demonstrates that you meet a standard of professional body of knowledge and reach a milestone in your professional development. Many organizations require that candidates have certification and encourage current employees to obtain certification. By becoming certified, you can: Distinguish yourself in an increasingly competitive marketplace Expand your career opportunities Validate your knowledge, competency and credibility Gain skills and tools to help you make a difference in your organization and your community Demonstrate your commitment to continuing professional development Gain a sense of personal and professional achievements Am I Eligible for Certification? To qualify to take the CAHIMS examination and earn CAHIMS certification, you must have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent. Eligible candidates can earn certification by taking the CAHIMS or CPHIMS exam. How do I renew my Certification? Don't wait to start on the renewal process! As soon as you earn your credential you should start maintaining it through completing approved educational activities and tracking them thoroughly. Certificate renewal must be completed every three years.  Please submit  your renewal application at least eight weeks prior to the expiration date on your certificate. FAQs about the Event What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking will be available on site. Specific instructions will be e-mailed to registered participants in advance of the event. What can I bring into the event? We want this to be an open, comfortable, and engaging event. Please feel free to bring drinks or snacks that you might like to have during the discussion. There will be an optional networking hour from 7am - 8am, where some breakfast snacks will be provided. We will also be providing lunch (please let us know of any specific dietary restrictions when completing registration).  What's the refund policy? Refunds can be obtained through EventBrite up to 7 days prior to the event.  Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? As long as you completed your registration under your own name, you do not need to bring your printed ticket to the event.
