In this NEW seminar, multiple-award winning classroom teacher, Matinga Ragatz, will provide powerful strategies for successfully integrating PBL in your classroom or school.   You will be presented with numerous strategies specifically geared for grades 3-12 learning environments. Matinga will introduce you to multiple PBL models, and give you you insight of why they work.  All examples are readily adaptable to all content areas.   You will leave this workshop with a wealth of practical ideas and perspectives, increased confidence in meeting the needs of all your students and list of resources of resources that will help you start your PBL journey.​ Day 1 - Understanding the Why 8:00-8:30 Registration 8:30 Workshop Begins 11:45-1:00 Lunch on your Own 3:00 Workshop Closes for Day 1 Objectives: Understand why Project Based Learning supports the purpose of school Explore strategies to help your students learn ‘the new normal’ Identify and unpack the PBL design process Gather target standards to make content more relevant to students ​ Day 2 - Understanding the How 8:00 Workshop Begins 11:45-1:00 Lunch on your Own 3:00 Workshop Closes for Day 1 Create a project scope statement Create opportunities for student voice and perspective in PBL Pitch your project for peer review and feedback Time to revise and reflect on your project (time permitting) ​ Other Benefits of Attending Learn key components to successfully implement Project Based Learning Step by Step instruction for building and creating a Project Based Learning experience in grades 3-12 The latest education research and trends focused on Project Based Learning Easy-to-use online project management tool to help students manage every step of their projects Receive a comprehensive PBL Handbook Payment Terms We prefer that all attendees are paid in advance of the workshop.  Our online booking system, through Eventbrite, will allow for attendees to register and pay via credit card.    We gladly accept school/organization purchase orders.  Attendees wishing to pay via purchase order must email the purchase order to events@icecollaborate.org with the attendee's name(s), title(s) and email address(es) in addition to the date and event title.     Payments on the day of the event must be by check made payable to the International Center for Education on a school issued check.  Cash payments, personal checks and credit cards are not accepted at the event. ​ All invoices will be delivered to the attendee by our accounting software via email from Intuit (our accounting software).  This is a manual process that may take up to 24 hours from the time of registration.   ​ Substitution Attendees may always substitute another person in their place.  You may email events@icecollaborate.org with the substitute attendee's information prior to the event.  This will allow ICE to update the pre-printed materials (name tags, certificates of attendance, etc.).  If this is not possible, not a problem...we send extra blank copies ahead of time to the workshop presenters.   ​ Refunds Refund requests will be honored up to 7 calendar days prior to the event.  Refunds will not be granted after such time due to the per person expenditures that are planned into each event (catering, printing, travel, etc).  All refund requests must be completed through the confirmation sent via Eventbrite or by email at events@icecollaborate.org. ​ Non-Attendance will be billed at full price if the registration is not cancelled within the allotted cancelation time. ​ Payment Address & Contact Address ​ International Center for Education 7326 Kestrel Street Hobart, IN 46342
