April 22 - 29, 2018 Experienced genealogist and former CGS Board of Directors, Lisa Gorrell, will assist you on our 18th Annual Salt Lake City Genealogy Research Trip to the Family History Library, the top genealogy library in the nation! Lisa Gorrell, who formerly served as the Recording Secretary on The California Genealogical Society's Board of Directors, has been a genealogist for more than twenty years. As a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, she conducts research for others, lectures to local organizations, and has extensive German expertise. She has researched at the Family History Library many times. Come join her and a group of other liked minded people as you have fun and get access to an amazing treasure trove of research materials unrivalled anywhere in the world! PACKAGE INCLUDES: Hotel room – 7 nights at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel, located at 122 West South Temple (Next door to the Family History Library.) - Shuttle service to and from airport. - Three group dinners. - Orientation and lectures. - Research assistance at the library & computer assistance using the online catalog at FamilySearch.org & other websites. - Pre-Trip Meeting. - Optional consultation prior to the trip. RESEARCH SCHEDULE: Sunday: Participants arrive in Salt Lake City; “Get-acquainted” group dinner. Monday: Brief morning library orientation; Research. Tuesday through Saturday: Research. Wednesday evening: Group dinner Saturday evening: “Wrap-up” group dinner. COST: Prior to Dec 31, 2017: double* occupancy $900 per person; $1,350 for a single room; and $490 if you take care of your own hotel reservation. After Dec 31, 2017 and up to March 10, 2018: double* occupancy $980 per person; single occupancy $1430; and $570 if you take care of your own hotel reservation. Payment is due in full at time of registration. * There is no guarantee that another double can be found. If no other double is found for a share, the price will be at the single rate. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: -Non-members must become a CGS member before registering for this trip. -Airfare is not included in the price. -Additional nights before or after the tour may be pre-arranged with the leader at the rate of $110 per night for a single room (includes 12.60% room tax) depending on availability. CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: -All cancellations must be made in writing and must be received before March 10, 2018 to have your payment returned. -If cancellation is received after March 10, 2018 and up to April 13, 2018, your payment less $250 will be returned. * If cancellation is made on or after April 13, 2018, then no refund will be given. (It is suggested that you obtain trip insurance if you feel cancellation is a possibility.) If the tour is cancelled due to lack of participation all fees will be refunded.
